Brooklyn-based designer Michele Quan designed a unique minimal light entitled 'MQuan Sconce' for design studio Allied Maker. Michele Quan is recognized for her designs and sculptures crafted from ceramic objects for her home and garden, many of which are drawn from the visual concepts of Eastern iconography. Her collaboration with Allied maker takes on bespoke hardware and infuses her signature handcrafted ceramic aesthetics to it.
The MQuan Sconce light series boast handmade stoneware backplates, drawing some influence from the starry night sky. The collection is comprised of three different light variations -- Rings, Firefly, and Black and White. The Firefly gives the illusion of sunrays, the Rings light plays with the curvature of the backplate to emit a rainbow forming light, and Black and White is blank on one side, and full on the other.
