Motorized Wooden Shuttle Kits

ROKR’s ‘Space Shuttle LKA02’ Recreates a Launch Sequence

ROKR built the ‘Space Shuttle LKA02’ for builders ages 14 and older, using a motorized rack-and-pinion lift that raises the orbiter from flat to upright before a countdown begins. The 446-piece wooden model turns a shuttle display into an action sequence, giving space fans a launchpad scene instead of a fixed pose.

Available on Amazon for about $56, the kit pairs laser-cut plywood with an ABS nose section, giving the shuttle a smoother white front end than wood alone could achieve. Touch controls start the sequence. Once the orbiter reaches 90 degrees, the tower arms pull back while orange and blue LEDs illuminate the engines.

At about $56, the kit undercuts LEGO’s $199.99 ‘Icons NASA Space Shuttle Discovery’ while offering motion instead of a fixed display. The motorized lift broadens the appeal of shuttle replicas by giving model builders a repeatable display ritual, not just a finished object.
