Francesc Rifé Studio was commissioned by fashion and footwear label ASH to create its physical visual identity and the design studio debuts its concepts via a modern retail space in Shanghai. The architecture takes cues from contemporary motifs, found in metropolitan cities. Francesc Rifé Studio also incorporates a traditional element that contrasts the notion of New Age minimalism. For the modern retail space in Shanghai, the design firm draws inspiration from a local traditional construction method, reliant on bamboo scaffolding.
The technique is mimicked by metal tubular frames that have a unique shade due to the sulfurization of the brass material and its coating with a dark finish. The way the skinny poles intersect forms an intricate framework that allows for a creative and agreeable display of ASH's product line.
