With social media and the Internet making the world available at the touch of a button, reading a paper book or visiting the library seems like a thing of the past, which is why Milwaukee Public Library decided to comically use the logos and slogans of famous sites to draw people’s attention to reading.
The library mimics the logos while adding a funny twist to them. For instance, the Facebook logo is transformed into a blue square with the site's signature typography reading "putyourfaceinabook." This brilliant advertisement is sure to generate some buzz as it pokes fun at familiar logos for teens and young adults. Also, it reminds people that there is more to life than these three social media sites.
The Milwaukee Public Library campaign is hilariously hip.
