Micah Camara is a 20-year-old photographer from Lihue, Hawaii, who takes incredible underwater action shots of surfers just off the coast of his native island.
Micah Camara's images capture the serene, solitary nature of surfing as well as the unabashed joy that those who participate feel when they're riding the waves. In these images, we see surfers that are in the midst of backflips, a surfer a few feet away from encroaching on a turtle, and another who is in the midst of opening an umbrella underwater.
It's hard to view Micah Camara's images and not imagine what it would be like to live near a beautiful body of water in a modern oasis like Hawaii. For those of us who don't live in Hawaii, the best we can do is live vicariously through Micah Camara and his surfer friends featured in this gallery.
