The DJI Mic 3 Adds Adaptive Gain Techn and Longer Battery Life

— September 1, 2025 — Tech
The latest DJI Mic 3 is a compact wireless microphone system that shrinks in size without cutting capability. It adds Adaptive Gain Control with Automatic and Dynamic modes and three voice tone presets: Regular, Rich, and Bright. Dual-band transmission over 2.4 and 5 GHz enhances stability, with a rated line-of-sight range of up to 400 meters. Each transmitter carries 32 GB for backup recording and supports 24-bit and 32-bit float audio, joined by two-level active noise cancelling and timecode.

A redesigned charging case organizes accessories and boosts endurance. Battery life is around 10 hours per transmitter and eight for the receiver; the case supplies about 28 more. The receiver’s 1.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen speeds setup, while magnetic mounts and a rotatable clip help placement. Setups can scale to four transmitters and eight receivers. However, a trade-off is that there is no 3.5 mm lav input and no Safety Track. Connections via USB-C or 3.5 mm keep the system compatible with phones and cameras.
