CitizenM Has Announced a New Venture and It is Ground-Breaking

Plans to build the first metaverse hotel are announced by hotel developer CitizenM. This will make the firm the first hospitality venture to establish a presence in the 3D virtual world that has been booming in popularity during the last year or so.

CitizenM's plans for the metaverse hotel will start with acquiring a "LAND site" in The Sandbox (a gaming world). A LAND site is essentially digital pieces of real estate that are backed by NFTs (non-fungible tokens). Acquiring these in the metaverse allows visitors to build self-contained environments that are open for other users to visit, as well. The metaverse hotel will be financed through the sale of NFTs, as well, which will include rewards—like free drinks to be redeemed in real life at a hotel location.
