The official national weather service of the United Kingdom, the Met Office, has gone ahead and launched an innovative new weather app that is designed to proactively give people the knowledge they need to go about planning their day.
Whereas the Met Office once offered a weather app that simply included information about things like temperature and humidity, what's great about this new app that is that it offers far more detailed information that people can use for the sake of practical planning. Much of this functionality is possible thanks to specific, location-based information including video content.
This weather app is also designed to be more engaging, and incorporates social media content and listicles in order to go beyond just the basic information. It's a great example of an app-based service diversifying its offerings to keep users interested and engaged.
