A Sneak Peek at the Maybelline Fall Collection

Maybelline New York has been a dominant force in the cosmetics industry for decades, and after seeing the new Maybelline Fall collection, it's clear as to why this company has managed to stay on top for so long. Combining both function and fashion, this collection features everything from simple foundation sticks to vibrant eyeshadow tattoos.

Maybelline's leading makeup artist Grace Lee has used pieces from the company's Fall collection to create a series of stunning makeup looks. Trend Hunter was lucky enough to sit down with Lee at the Maybelline launch party to discuss which makeup looks will be turning heads this fall.

1. What are some makeup trends we can look forward to in the coming fall?

We have a lot of trends, but we’ve paired them down to the glossed-over look and the morning after, which is my favorite. We have a very dark lip color called 'Grapes of Wrath,' and also a gray, smoky eyeshadow called 'Amazing Grace.'

2. What do think makes these looks successful?

We have an amazing group of people in products and development. They are what stand behind the product, but I think it comes down to the product first. I think it’s just a good marriage between the product itself and the development team.

3. Which parts of the collection are emulating current makeup trends?

There are the Baby Lips Electro that are coming out, which are so on par with trends with their neon, electric colors. We have the elixirs that are coming out, which are a play on the texture of lipgloss. We have the Color Tattoo Pigments…we kind of have something for every single trend.

4. What do you think will be the most popular item in the collection?

I would have to say the Fit Me stick foundation, because it is a product that I think every woman will want to use.

5. What makes Maybelline different from other makeup companies? What makes you guys successful?

We are the number one brand in Canada, but also worldwide. We have amazing products at a great value that are accessible to the everyday woman, but it’s still a fashion-focused brand. It’s a winning combination.
