Efficient Connected Home Standards

Matter 1.5 is Rolling Out Now to Accelerate Device Support

Matter 1.5 has been announced by the Connectivity Standard Alliance (CSA) as a follow-up to Matter 1.4.2 that's slated to offer advanced capabilities for device manufacturers in the smart home space. The connectivity standard will allow brands to engineer a wider range of devices that will work seamlessly together, while also prioritizing consistent controls, smarter levels of automation and enhanced reliability. The standard will also add in support for additional security cameras, soil sensors, smart blinds and devices that are focused on energy management within the home.

Matter 1.5 is being rolled out now for Alliance Members to enable them to start cracking on new devices using the protocol immediately. The standard will also support WebRTC for live video as well as two-way audio and more.
