Pirate-Blocking Blinds

The Marine Armor System Prevents Pirates From Invading Ships

The Marine Armor System is a series of ballistic blinds designed to prevent pirates from accessing ships' interiors. There are various systems designed to keep pirates from boarding ships, but this may be the first system designed to stop those pirates who board ships from accessing its interior.

The blinds are rolled up when not needed and located above the ship's doorways, hatches and windows. When a pirate-boarding is imminent, a centrally-located button can be pressed to cause the blinds to roll down. The blinds are made from a proprietary material called Kriptonia, which is claimed to be stronger than steel.

The Marine Armor System's blinds vary in their level of ballistic protection. The Kriptonia Basic blinds can withstand shots from a .22-caliber handgun, while the Kriptonia 100 can block shots from heavy military weapons.
