Lotte Creates 'Magic' Chewing Gum for Japan

Korean business group Lotte apparently knows how to catch picky Japanese consumers. Lotte’s Tokyo operation just developed a 'magic' chewing gum--Plus Fruitio Magic Bottle--to enrich its existing fruity gum series Plus Fruitio.

So what kind of spell does this particular gum carry? The flavor. Every bottle has two flavors, strawberry and melon. However, if you chew the both together, you get the third flavor: watermelon.

Targeting young women and priced at 735 yen ($7.90 USD), the magic chewing gum will hit the Japanese market on May 11th, 2010.
