Fuzzy Bug-Focused Sculptures

Claire Moynihan's Faux Creepy Crawlers are Made with Felt

These realistic creepy crawlers by artist Claire Moynihan are actually made with felt. Moynihan calls these creative cushy sculptures Bug Balls, and with pretty good reason. Essentially her sculptures just depict tiny bugs planted on top of a cushy ball.

Moynihan includes a vast number of little creepy crawlers in her faux bug sculpture collection. Snails are among the featured critters in this collection, as well as dragon flies, bees, wasps and lady bugs. Another interesting thing about Claire’s collection of soft bug sculptures is that she displays then in a glass case, like an actual bug collector would.

This interesting art project allows people to view all kinds of tiny insects up close without actually having to go out and capture them. Personally I think I prefer felt bugs to the real thing.
