Luxury campgrounds such as the 'Russian River Autocamp' could help transition people from living in large spaces to smaller ones.

The Russian River campground is located near San Francisco in Sonoma's Wine County. The site has 24 Airstream trailers and "10 luxury canvas tents." The luxury campground is in an area that is prone to floods and so the site was designed accordingly. In case of flooding, the clubhouse that the campground is centered around is elevated and made from strong materials. The company markets itself as being "a great way to experience environmentally sustainable, small-space design.

Campground communities such as the one offered at Russian River are not only a unique vacation experience, but could help people understand the costs and benefits of downsizing.
