'Lotus Pops' are Prepared with Roasted Foxnut Seeds

At the Winter Fancy Food Show, Nouveau Foods showed off 'Lotus Pops,' a natural roasted lotus seed snack that is enhanced with various ingredients and spices. Some of the vibrant varieties that are offered by the brand include: Paprika & Garlic, Pepper & Turmeric, as well as Salted Caramel.

Just as Lotus Pops makes its puffed snacks from lotus seeds, Lily Puffs is a brand that makes its snack from water lily seeds—both make healthy alternatives to popcorn.

As Nouveau Foods' Nisheeth Gupta notes: "We are one of the first companies to introduce lotus seeds to the US market." Some of the other brands that are also working with this ingredient include Rooted, Nuto, Rano and Swad, which also refer to the lotus seeds as foxnuts.
