Anniversary Sofa Designs

These Personal and Public Sofas are Being Launched at London Design Week

Six sofa designs were created for the 30th anniversary of SCP for London Design Week. The 'Sofa in Sight' collection ranges in styles from couches that are intended for communal use to those that are ideal for public spaces and residential homes.

The first piece designed by Michael Anastassiades was made with modernity in mind -- understanding that wait times can be longer than ever before and that making public spaces comfortable is of value in this day and age. The Rochester couch's design is an enclosed structural rectangle with cushioned panels on the sides to lean on.

Several other pieces draw on the fashion of past furniture -- one reminiscent of a 1960s office with a bright orange color scheme. Meanwhile, a reclined and armless sofa was in fact designed in the 1990's but not produced until now. These pieces will be showcased at London Design Week in SCP's Shoreditch store.
