L'Officiel December 2010 released an editorial with model Svetlana Mukhina shot by photographer Cecile Bortoletti. The shoot is all about embellished winter fashions, where Svetlana is decked out in multi-printed jackets, killer footwear and fashion forward headgear.
The shoot resembles 18th century European fashion with a modern take, where Svetlana is seen wearing brocade designs and fur in a solitary environment. Check out the L'Officiel December 2010 issue on stands now.
Implications - It's no longer cool to be, well, cool. Big, fuzzy hats, bulky layered knits and infinity scarves are just a few examples of how fashion has taken a turn towards the functional when it comes to dressing appropriately for winter. Fashionistas no longer have to sacrifice feeling in their fingers in order to look good.
