LinkDesigns Makes Custom Mittens Using Sustainable Techniques

Link Design, the eco-conscious, handcrafted mitten brand founded by Eric Samuelson, offers a limited selection of items on his website, but the heart of his business lies in custom creations. Beyond mittens, Link Design also features a collection of apparel and accessories, including hats, beanies, hoodies, t-shirts, lapel pins, and guitar straps, blending sustainability with style.

“As part of our class we needed to work with a local business, but all the local businesses we could select from were all chosen by the time my team came around (to make a selection),” Samuelson said. “So, we just made something up, and I had this idea to make mittens out of recycled leather jackets and stuff.”

Samuelson’s materials are sourced from upcycled and recycled fabrics, including upholstery leather scraps, fabric remnants, and waterproof textiles, making each pair durable and customizable.
