Aventon is moving into top-tier electric mountain bikes with the Current LTD, a full-suspension model for off-road riders that pairs a 120 Nm mid-drive motor with a run of just 99 bikes worldwide. That setup centers the bike on steep climbing and rarity rather than volume, giving buyers a more exclusive option in the brand's expanding range.
A wireless SRAM drivetrain lets riders change gears while still pushing on the pedals, which matters most when climbs get technical. Aventon also fits an 800.1 Wh battery into a 23.1 kg carbon build, aiming to keep assisted trail time high without making the bike overly cumbersome.
At $7,999 in the US and €7,999 in Europe, the Current LTD turns Aventon's move into high-end trail bikes into a clear brand test. Pre-orders are open now, and European orders are due to start arriving around November 11, so the 99-bike cap keeps it closer to a halo drop than a broad-volume model.
