Audio Light Tunnels

The Sonic Runway at Burning Man Is Made of Illuminating Circular Steel Gates

In the midst of the celebrations at the art and music festival Burning Man is the Sonic Runway light tunnel that features a series of steel gates lined up for miles that encourages consumers to walk through the space and have the gates respond to music by changing color and audio. The project is located in the Black Rock City and creates a simulated corridor that envelopes the visitor in a nightly experience that entices the senses.

The Sonic Runway is a corridor built in the middle of the dessert that is entirely exposed. Visitors walk through a set of steel gates that are tech-enabled to showcase light travelling at the speed of sound. The gates light up and change colors in conjunction to the music playing nearby.
