Stop-Motion Vacation Ads

Expedia's 'Let's Take a Trip' Ad Spot Plays on the Imagination

Imagination is a powerful tool, but it can't compete with the real thing -- this is the premise behind Expedia's 'Let's Take a Trip' ad spot, which encourages consumers to plan that vacation they've been dreaming of.

In the offbeat ad, the viewers watch as a woman's coffee table transforms into a convertible, blankets become a mountain to hike up, and the broom becomes a diving board to jump from. Throughout the ad, items in a living room are cleverly repurposed to be reminiscent of vacation experiences. Eventually, the ad closes with the narrator saying "Imagine the places we'll go, together."

Made using a stop-motion animation technique, this ad aims to inspire viewers to plan the vacation they've been imagining.
