But instead of relying on typical solutions such as folding mechanisms and more, the Latch Stool incorporates a latch hinge, which is most recognizably found on glass jars and bottles. Nevertheless, this seat is carved out of wood, which makes the application quite unique.
Designed by Christian Juhl, an industrial designer based in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Latch Stool works through a series of notches that the metal latches secure into. When sprung open, the legs of the seat come off effortlessly, allowing the Latch Stool to pack up easily and conveniently.
