Light and power make a pair of very useful utilities, so the maker of the Lamp&Socket decided to combine the two into one product. The result is a multitasking fixture that provides both illumination and an electrical source so that you can operate a gadget and see it clearly too.
Lotte Douwes made the linked device duo from smooth ceramic material, creating a narrow and flaring shape for each. Where one of the ends has been designed to hold a lightbulb, the other acts as an extension cord with a power outlet inside; the two dangle down together from cords with woven grey sheaths. The Lamp&Socket are ideally hung in all sorts of places. They'd be terribly practical in library reading rooms, at cafe tables and above kitchen islands.
