South Korean visual artist Koo Jeong A has designed this glow-in-the-dark skate park that brightens up at night.
Located in Liverpool, England, this fluorescent project is a new edition to the local Everton Park initiated by Liverpool Biennial. Working with local young people from the area, this new skatepark functions both as an interactive space for the community as well as a public art piece. The 'Koo Jeong A x Wheelscape Evertro' project was built through the artist's interpretation of the surrounding area, and actually uses a free-form construction process that consumes two thirds fewer concrete than a traditional casting mold.
Of course, most striking is the glowing green bowl centerpiece painted in phosphorescent paint. The paint used is especially unique in that it actually uses a natural bioluminescent chemical found in common fireflies.
