Nike introduces a new tonal iteration to decorate the retro Air Max 97 sneaker model -- the new Koi colorway details the chunky footwear silhouette. It is inspired by the koi fish and what it stands for, which replicates the concept of love, prosperiety, and harmony.
The design starts off with a dual tonal colorway, focusing on white and gold throughout the sneaker. The upper is made from leather and mesh materials with suede wrapping around the mudguard sections. There is also a touch of reflective elements that can be seen by the waved stripe paneling. Fish scale emeblems are applied to the midfoot cutouts as a nod to the overarching Koi fish theme. Rounding out the shoe are Koi fish graphics at the insoles.
