Klemens Torggler’s Flip Panel Door Folds in On Itself

Austrian artist Klemens Torggler has somehow managed to completely reinvent the door. Torggler has been working for a number of years on the flip panel door, a door that opens by folding and collapsing in on itself. It’s made up of four triangular sections that fold into two large diamonds during the opening and closing process.

The flip panel door can be opened and closed simply by pushing at its center. Klemens Torggler’s door doesn’t exactly look to be the sturdiest or safest thing in the world, so don’t expect houses of the future to be built with flip panel doors. Still, it’s an awesome work of art that makes you appreciate the mind of creatives even more. After all, who looks at doors and sees an opportunity for art and evolution?
