With the adaptation of the legendary King Kong film into the British King Kong Live on Stage theater production, production artist Peter England created a life-size, gigantic King Kong functional puppet.
Clocking in at the weight of 1.1-tons, this King Kong film-inspired puppet is one hefty gorilla. Crafted to function through a specially made program, this massive King Kong uses specially designed discs that allow his plaster limbs to properly move. As expected, this performance tells the romantic sci-fi love story of King Kong and Susan. King Kong takes up almost the entire stage, and really is the beastly star of this amazing theater performance.
