Microsoft has unveiled a controller-free gaming device known as 'Kinect' for Xbox 360, which was previously code-named â€œProject Natal.â€
According to Microsoft, Kinect will completely change the gaming experience. The device contains a camera, audio sensors and motion-sensing technology which ables to track 48 movements on the human body, recognise faces and voices. The launch of Kinect took place at the Los Angeles Galen Centre and displayed how the game would be played.
Implications - The ability to use hands-free devices continues to be favored by many consumers all over the world. Companies that can create products that function with minimal participation from users will continue to be instrumental in the lives of fast-paced consumers. Even products that traditionally require hand usage, such as video games, can acquire a revolutionary shift in design.8
