The Kia Sorento is an SUV that borrows design elements from the 2013 Kia Cross GT concept, but is built around an ultra-stiff bodyshell that allows for improved handling, comfort and safety.
The Kia Sorento's bodyshell has 14% greater torsional rigidity than that of its predecessor, in addition to extra soundproofing in the dash section and transmission tunnel. It also has upgraded engine and transmission mounts that work to help cut down on the transmission of vibrations to passengers.
The vehicle would come with different engine options depending on the market, with their output ranging from 170 to 266 horsepower. The European market will be offered a turbocharged 2.2-liter diesel engine and a 2.4-liter petrol version.
The new Kia Sorento will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October.
