KFC China has launched a unique new payment initiative that involves more consumer interaction with the brand, despite the payment system being computer-based.
The new system will involve KFC customers engaging with the machines emotionally rather than typing in buttons to pay for their food. Consumers must simply download the KFC payment app and input their payment information. Then, upon purchasing food at the fast food chain, they need only to smile at the machines in order to pay. The machine recognizes the customer smiling, and is able to connect to the app on their phone in order to process the payment.
This emotion-based payment system works to add a humanized element to a payment process that no longer involves people.
