These Kevlar Playing Cards Resist Rips and Tears

Sly Kly Design loves taking ordinary objects and upgrading materials to make them more durable, stronger or just plain awesome -- the Kevlar Playing Cards are no exception. As a new project on Kickstarter, the Kevlar Playing Cards reached its funding goal of $25,000 within the first 48 hours.

Kevlar is a lightweight and strong synthetic material that is commonly found in Bulletproof vests and helmets. As well, it is often used in the construction of Modern Sports Cars to keep designs strong as well as light. Sly Kly Design has also improved upon its Original Carbon Fiber Playing Cards by adding a clear coating to every card to protect the card images from scratching or chipping. This same coating is found on iPhone screens as well.

The Kevlar Playing Card project has currently raised over $37,000 and still has 23 days left until the end of the Kickstarter project.
