Karako Bedroom Interior Harkens to Bygone Boudoirs

As incredibly contemporary as the latticed canopy looks, this Karako bedroom interior is very much inspired by themes of the past. Throwing back as far as biblical times, the domestic project is called "The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil," in reference to the story of Adam and Eve.

The branch-like awning begins as a headboard and covers the bed with a web of angular trelliswork. It's as if the sleeper lies beneath that fateful bough bearing that ominous apple. Fast forward in history about 1500 years, and many parallels can be drawn between this all-encompassing frame and the royal canopy beds of the Renaissance. Exuding a modern aesthetic with a crisp whitewash and abstract geometries, the Karako bedroom interior certainly builds on forms of the past.
