JW Anderson x Eddie Glew Baskets Reinterpret British Craft for Salone

— April 23, 2026 — Art & Design
The JW Anderson x Eddie Glew collection presents a series of handcrafted willow baskets developed for Fall/Winter 2026 and unveiled at Salone del Mobile. Created with Yeoman basketmaker Eddie Glew, the lineup includes Blanket, Log, and Laundry Baskets, each made in England using traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations. The forms draw from medieval storage chests, translating historical construction methods into contemporary objects through proportion, structure, and detailing.

Each piece is woven from British willow and finished with vegetable-tanned leather elements developed with a London-based craftsperson. Leather straps, floral motifs, and precision-engineered gunmetal hardware are integrated into the woven structure, reinforcing both durability and decorative language. The collaboration extends into a live demonstration at JW Anderson’s Milan flagship, where Glew uses traditional tools to carve wooden flowers.
