Vibrant Color-Coded Universities

Jussieu University Has Painted Each Floor a Different Pastel

Jussieu University of Paris has implemented an elaborate color-coded design scheme with a purpose that extends past aesthetics.

The higher education facility consists of six grid-like wings with intersection points at elevators and stairwells. To alleviate some of the pains of navigation, the school's design scheme has color coded each floor with a different pastel shade. The wall colors are visible through large windows that stand out against a white backdrop. From particular vantage points, students can view the different floors, easily locating where they should be based on its designated color.

The welcoming colors contrast the school's prestigious reputation as a school of science and medicine. The cleverly colored walls act as a creative guide for both new students and visitors.
