A24 and Joya Unveil Eight Candles with Special Scents

A24 works with Brooklyn-centric fragrance studio Joya on a collection of candles that are each inspired by a different film genre. There are eight candles that highlight horror, thriller, western, noir, adventure, romantic comedy, sci-fi, and musical as the themes. Every candle is made from a soy wax blend as the foundation and can burn up to 50 to 60 hours.
That equals up to approximately 33 movies, reports A24. A24 states that "Aromatically speaking, the movies have historically been limited to wafts of hot butter, worn velour, and failed experiments with Smell-O-Vision." Every scent is very well thought out. The Horror scent, for example, is inspired specifically by remote lakeside cabins, shadowy walls, glowing eyes, and fangs. It is translated to notes of cinnamon bark, mandarin, cypress, suede, and clove leaf.
