Self-Cleaning Mop Systems

Joseph Joseph Ultraclean Separates Clean and Dirty Water During Use

The Joseph Joseph UltraClean Microfibre Floor Mop Cleaning System is a redesigned mopping setup that addresses how dirty water is reused during cleaning. The system uses a dual-chamber bucket that separates clean water from contaminated water, preventing the mop head from being re-soaked in grime. At the center is a built-in SprayClean mechanism that activates each time the mop is inserted, combining a scraper that squeezes out dirty water with a set of nozzles that spray fresh water onto the pad.

The upper reservoir holds clean water, while a lower translucent chamber collects used water as it is removed from the mop head. The microfibre pad is refreshed during each pass, remaining damp rather than saturated, which reduces drying time on floors. The system includes a rotating mop head for accessing corners and a telescopic handle for adjustable reach, alongside multiple washable pads designed for repeated use.

Dual-chamber Cleaning Systems
Separation of clean and dirty fluids within single units enables sustained hygiene performance and reduces cross-contamination during repeated cleaning cycles.
Automated Pad Refresh Mechanisms
Built-in scrapers and targeted spray nozzles refresh cleaning pads mid-use, maintaining consistent soil pickup and minimizing manual intervention.
Microfibre Moisture-control Technology
Pads engineered to remain damp rather than saturated accelerate surface drying while preserving effective soil removal.

Sectors Adopting This

Residential Cleaning Products
Consumer-grade mop and bucket systems that integrate fluid separation and pad-refresh features can reframe expectations for at-home sanitation convenience.
Commercial Janitorial Services
Service providers could realize efficiency gains and improved hygiene metrics through adoption of self-cleaning equipment that limits recontamination across high-traffic areas.
Cleaning Technology Manufacturing
Component makers and OEMs have opportunities to develop modular spray-and-scrape mechanisms and advanced microfiber substrates for next-generation cleaning platforms.
