The events at the "Unemployment Olympics" in New York City were definitely named in a way the onlookers and participants could relate to, as laid off workers from the area got together for some good natured fun.
Only those who had a pink slip could take part in the various events.
Some of the names of the themed events included office-phone skeeball, a "You’re Fired" race, and probably the best named event, "Pin the Blame on the Boss."
Most the people taking part were eliminated from their white collar jobs in sectors like hedge funds, banking, advertising and entertainment.
