'It Lurks Below' Blends Gameplay to Create a Unique Experience

'It Lurks Below' is the latest creation from legendary creator David Brevik. Brevik, who is perhaps best known as the creator of the iconic RPG Diablo, recently announced It Lurks Below as the newest title from his indie studio Graybeard Games. Much like Diablo, Brevik's new game will include action-RPG mechanics and collectible loot. However, unlike previous titles by Brevik, It Lurks Below will be much smaller in scale and will be developed completely by Brevik.

Gameplay combines dungeon style mechanics seen in Diablo, with open world and construction elements seen in games like Terraria and Minecraft. The addition of these construction elements came from Brevik's love of games of this genre and were added to It Lurks Below because Brevik saw its natural fit with RPG mechanics. The game places players in a 2D world and tasks them with exploring the procedure-generated levels while fighting monsters and collecting items. It Lurks Below has yet to receive an official release date, but Brevik aims to have the game out sometime in 2018.
