It’s totally understandable if you were fooled when you looked at this image and thought it was just another photo of Morgan Freeman, but it’s really an incredible piece of iPad art. The photorealistic iPad painting was created by artist Kyle Lambert using about 285,000 brushstrokes over the course of more than 200 hours on the Procreate app.
If you’re still a little skeptical about how this work of art was finger painted on a tablet screen, there’s a video that condenses Lambert’s process into about three minutes. As unbelievable as it is, hopefully it will inspire you to up your drawing game by adding a few more details to your stick figures the next time you play a social drawing game with friends on your iPad.
