SmartSens has introduced integrated automotive vision systems that combine camera sensors with onboard computing to improve how vehicles detect their surroundings and monitor passengers. Demonstrated at AutoSens Europe 2026, the new forward-facing camera modules incorporate Flyingchip's M2 system-on-chip, allowing imaging and processing functions to work together under challenging lighting conditions.
The technology uses the 8.3MP SC860AT sensor for road visibility, while separate monitoring solutions support driver awareness and passenger detection. SmartSens also presented a 360-degree camera system designed to preserve visual details when exposed to intense headlights or strong backlighting. Its cabin-monitoring technology can identify children, pets, and belongings left inside vehicles.
For automakers and automotive suppliers, these integrated solutions offer flexible options for developing advanced driving and safety features. The portfolio also supports production-scale deployment as manufacturers expand their vehicle monitoring capabilities.
