An Instagram TV show will be the first program of its kind to broadcast exclusively on the picture-sharing social media platform. 'Artistically Challenged' is a television series that will air seven 15 second-long episodes, as that is the longest length an Instagram video can be. This stands in stark contrast to the standard season containing 22 or 45 minute long episodes.
The short time frame poses an interesting storytelling challenge for show creators Aleks Arcabascio, Jeremy Boros and Samuel Delmara. Given companies like Hulu and Netflix are creating original content, it's not surprising social media was the next medium to take this on. But the Instagram TV show is just the first to appear on Instagram, as 'Emma Approved' has been on YouTube and AMC's 'Halt and Catch Fire' had its beginnings on tumblr.
