Refreshed Brand Identities

Instagram Brand Identity Introduces Updated Typography and Wordmark

The Instagram brand identity refresh introduces a redesigned wordmark, updated typography and refinements to motion, layouts and interface elements across the platform. Developed in-house by Meta, the update retains the recognizable cursive logo while simplifying its letterforms through flattened, detached serifs and bolder proportions. The refreshed visual system also incorporates Instagram's signature gradient in more subtle applications throughout the interface. According to the design team, the new identity was developed after exploring hundreds of creative directions before selecting a simplified and more contemporary approach.

The rollout will continue globally through 2026 and beyond across Instagram's products and digital experiences. Updated typography supports greater consistency throughout the platform while revised motion and layout systems extend the refreshed identity beyond the logo. The redesign preserves key visual characteristics established in 2016 while refining details to improve clarity and flexibility across digital applications.
