This Innovative Prosthesis Allows the Wearer to Perform Tattoos

Visual artist JL Gonzal has collaborated with tattoo artist JC Sheitan Tenet to create a wonderfully innovative prosthesis that allows Tenet -- who lost his right arm 22 years ago -- to tattoo with more fluidity and comfort.
This innovative prosthesis makes use of a solid mounting system, onto which a customized version of a rotary tattoo machine is fitted. An elbow plug is used to make it possible for the wearer's arm to move without getting tangled up in cables. The prosthesis features a distinctly steampunk appearance thanks in part to its rusted metal paint finish.
This biomechanical tattoo-centric prosthesis offers limited functionality and takes a lot of work to clean and maintain, but it remains a truly great example of prosthetic technology being used to help amputees carry on physical tasks.
