German automation company Siemens offers Industrial Edge, a set of manufacturing solutions that are enhanced with Google Cloud technology. The partnership between the two companies brings Google Cloud's data cloud, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to Siemen's Industrial Edge to empower manufacturers with data-driven, all-in-one tools. With the enhanced tools, manufacturers can optimize the production line by processing real-time data about machine operations.
Since the Industrial Edge tools can be directly integrated into machines, the collected data can be efficiently processed at the point of retrieval or exported for further analysis in the company's cloud network. The tools assist manufacturers in identifying problems on the line, providing productivity projections, keeping machines updated, and more–all made more accessible through Google Cloud. Dominik Wee, Managing Director Manufacturing and Industrial at Google Cloud, said, "By simplifying the deployment of AI in industrial use cases, we’re helping employees augment their critical work on the shop floor."
