The 'Bakeralla' blog has whipped up a recipe for the perfect batch of Independence Day cookies. These pennant sugar cookies are not only delicious, but they can also be strung up as a form of patriotic decoration.

To make these Independence Day cookies, you will need a batch of sugar cookie dough and a few basic baking tools. Once you have made or purchased your sugar cookie dough, punch out a number of small triangle-shaped pennants. Make two holes in the cookie by pressing a plastic straw into the dough. Once you have your pennants assembled you can bake the cookies in the oven. When the cookies are cool, you can go ahead and decorate them with red, white and blue icing. The recipe is completely customizable so you can decorate the sugar cookies however you see fit.

Once the icing has completely hardened, you can string your cookies together to create a charming Independence Day decoration.
