Lately, Uber and Lyft have faced some criticism from drivers for the wages that they make, so Cargo's in-car vending machines offers enterprising drivers an extra source of income while they port riders to their destinations. The connected system includes a stock of everyday essentials, and riders can pay to purchase those items using their credit card or a mobile payment system like Apple Pay.
Cargo's in-car vending machines are free for drivers, so they take on no risk by adding it to their vehicle. The custom display case comes with a stock of various items supplied by Cargo, and passengers order those items by going online on their smartphones and browsing for what they want. Drivers earn 50 cents for each item they distribute, and Cargo estimates that on average that adds up to $100 every month (on top of their salary for the actual driving.)
