Illuminated Laptop Logos

Apple Restores the MacBook Pro's Lit Logo

Apple's new MacBook Pro brings back the glowing Apple mark on the lid, a design element missing since 2015 that makes the laptop easier to recognize in public. It sits alongside the first touchscreen on a Mac and a PROLED XDR display, a brighter and more colorful screen that gives the notebook another visible update.

The lit emblem returns after more than a decade away, and it stands out because the rest of the hardware stays close to earlier MacBook Pro generations. From a distance, the machine looks much like non-PROLED versions, so the restored logo becomes the clearest sign that this is the latest model. In cafes, trains, or other shared spaces, that small change makes the computer easier to identify without altering the familiar shape.

The restored lid logo turns branding into a visible product feature again, shifting some of the MacBook Pro's differentiation from internal specs to exterior recognition. On a notebook that otherwise resembles earlier versions, the cyclical return of a retired detail makes nostalgia part of the upgrade equation.
