The IKEA FÖRNUFTIG air purifier is a new appliance from the furniture retail brand that is focused on providing consumers with an affordable solution to help keep indoor environments free from airborne particles.
The air purifier features a design-conscious aesthetic that could be easily integrated into a home and left out in the open without the need to be hidden away. The unit makes use of a triple-filter design that will capture dust and pollen as small as PM2.5 as well as VOCs and formaldehyde. The air purifier will be launched in the mainland China market in November 2020 with a larger rollout taking place in February 2021.
Product Owner Henrik Telander explained the IKEA FÖRNUFTIG air purifier further saying, "Air purifiers aren’t a viable option for most people, in particular not for those living in small spaces. With this in mind, we optimized the air purifier for about 10-square-meters, using less material in a smarter way, which enabled us to lower the price.”
