Dramatic Dessert Photography

Diaz Wichmann's ice cream photography puts immaculately spherical scoops of frozen dessert in dramatic, shadow-cast settings. Placing the scoops of frozen treats on glass-like display cases or intricately shaped plates, the Spanish advertising photographer portrays ice cream in a whole new light.

One of the photos exudes a sci-fi-esque feel, centering a ball of green sorbet around multiple mirrors that display countless reflections. The effect resembles something like the black-and-neon-green digital rain from the Matrix. Other shoots also exude a dark and almost mysterious aura due to the lighting and composition of the photos. Scoops are always placed on sleek sets, color-coordinated with minimalistic embellishments. The photos were taken for a Spanish food company called Sandro Desii.
