If you're one of the 43% of Americans who drink four or fewer cups of water per day, then The Hug hydration app is for you.
The app, which is currently looking for funding through Kickstarter, comes equipped with a sensor band that attaches to your water bottle and monitors H20 consumption. The accompanying app reminds you to take a swig when your hydration levels are looking low. The app works in conjunction with exercise apps, such as FitBit, adjusting your hydration notifications according to your physical output.
With busy professional and personal lives, we often forget to hydrate throughout the day. Unfortunately, dehydration diminishes our mental and physical performance. It's also linked to dry skin, moodiness and, in more extreme cases, kidney stones. The creator of The Hug is convinced that by drinking more water, we'll all feel more rejuvenated -- so put down the caffeine and pour yourself a tall glass of water.
